I haven't seen many sunflowers this summer, and I am an admirer of the tall plant and its useful seeds.
So while on a walk to downtown, I was delighted to come across this sidewalk garden (pictured, right).
This colorful arrangement, meticulously done by a plucky homeowner and located near a slightly seedy neighborhood, made me think of that cliche, "Bloom where you are planted."
Job was the Zen Master (if I can put it that way) of that mindset.
At the height of his trials, he still managed to proclaim, "The Lord gave and the Lord has taken away. Blessed be the name of the Lord."
