Castillo is the Spanish word for castle. A people's country, after all, should be their castle, serving as a fortress against invaders, foreign and domestic.
About the Castillo Chronicles
The blog is named for Roberto Faith Del Castillo, an Hispanic immigrant who came to the United States - legally - in the 1950s, immediately joined the U.S. Army, and went on to become a successful South Florida entrepreneur. He epitomizes the naturalized, assimilated citizen who supports the rule of law, the free market, choice in education, secure borders, civic participation, religious liberty, and English as the national language (of government business) but is proud of his Costa Rican roots. He is also proud that his three children - who were all born in the U.S. - speak fluent Spanish.
