I never understood those cryptic baking references in
"MacArthur Park." But, growing up in Miami in the 70s and being no fan of heavy metal, I did get that no entertainer did catchy disco tunes like Ms. Summer.
Sure, it wasn't morally edifying music, nor did it have any serious social value. But, in retrospect, Donna, a pop culture phenom,
was tame compared to the declasse
Rihannas and
Ke$has of today.
