Remembering General Lee

Robert E. Lee's 'birthday' was Jan. 19. Gods and Generals, IMO, is a fine tribute to this one-of-a-kind American.

Gods and Generals is an excellent movie. Though, too long, too wordy and too intelligent to have had any chance of being successful in the Hollywood sense of the term.

Plus the more sympathetic viewpoint toward the South is also a 'strike' against it
